Lecture 3: Debugging
Date: Monday, February 2, 2015
Agenda
- Announcements
- Discussion of last week's problems (POSTPONED - SNOW)
- Debugging tips and techniques (POSTPONED - SNOW)
- println/printf debugging
- "real" debuggers
- Assignment for next time: choose 4 classes in the Java API (or
some C/C++ library or functions) that you believe are useful to know
about. Write a short description of each, and be prepared to make a
brief and informal presentation about them. Each of you will talk
about 1 of your API examples, but the instructors will choose which
of yours you will present (so know them all well!). In order to get
good coverage of the most important classes, please visit the Google
Spreadsheet (see your email) to sign up for your favorites. While
it's great to choose one you know, be sure to pick some you don't
know as well. At most 3 of you can pick each, so sign up quickly.
