Computer Science 112
The Art & Science of Computer Graphics
Spring 2013, The College of Saint Rose
Agenda
We will spend the majority of our class time working together through some additional examples of custom objects using the techniques you will use for Studio/Lab 3. As we work through, make some of your own variations on these objects and put them into a scene. Before our next class, submit a model for up to 8 points of bonus "Lecture Assignment" credit. You will get credit for your submission as long as it includes examples of at least 3 custom object types. Your scene need not be artistic, realistic, or even especially interesting. This is just for practice. Comments in your model are always encouraged, but the only required comment for this submission is one that includes your name and the phrase "Lecture 8 In-class Exercise" at the top. Email your model file (with a .scm file extension) to terescoj AT strose.edu with subject "CSC 112 Lecture 8 In-class Exercise" to get credit for this.
Due at the start of class, Tuesday, February 12.
Please submit answers to these questions either as a hard copy (typeset or handwritten are OK) or by email to terescoj AT strose.edu by the start of class. Please use a clear subject line when submitting by email (e.g., CSC 112 Lecture Assignment 8, Joe Student). We will discuss these questions at the start of class, so no late submissions are accepted.
For a bit more practice thinking about constructive solid geometry, describe how you would create a three-dimensional Pac Man object, with his mouth open (6 points):
