Lecture Assignment 23
Due at the start of class, Monday, December 13.
Please submit answers to these questions
in Blackboard by the start of class. We will discuss these questions at
the start of class, so no late submissions are accepted.
- One of the topics for our last class meeting will be
network neutrality. Read this page from
techcrunch.com
that summarizes the issue. Write a few paragraphs summarizing your
opinion on this debate.
- The Free Software Foundation promotes software that is not only
free (in terms of cost) but free (in terms of liberty). Read
Free software is a matter of liberty, not
price by Peter Brown of the FSF. What
do you think? What parts of the FSF's philosophy appeal to you?
What problems do you see in trying to follow their philosophy? Are
there good reasons to have software that is not free (as in
liberty/freedom)?
