Lecture Assignment 22
Due at the start of class, Wednesday, December 8.
Please submit answers to these questions
in Blackboard by the start of class. We will discuss these questions at
the start of class, so no late submissions are accepted.
- Look at some of the email that has been sent to you but which
has been filtered as spam or viruses. (If you don't have any handy,
let me know and I'll send you some of mine.) How can you tell if
these emails came from a legitimate source? Looking at the body of the
emails, can you tell what they are trying to do? Look for links to
fraudulent web sites and for misleading information that is intended
to trick you into clicking on the link. What are some of the
ways you can tell that a message is fraudlent?
- In preparation for our dicsussion of digital rights, read the
article COPYRIGHT vs. TRADEMARK
vs. PATENT on
LawMart.com. Summarize in one paragraph the difference between a
copyright and a patent in the United States.
- In preparation for our discussions of digital rights, read the
blog entry Facebook is not your
friend
and write a couple of paragraphs with your reaction to the entry.
