There are templates for a paper and a talk in /home/faculty/terescoj/latexexample and /home/faculty/terescoj/latextalk, respectively, for those who would like to use latex for your writeup or to create presentation slides.
To access the Gropp text on e-reserve from Schow:
1. Start at http://francis.williams.edu/
2. On the bottom of the screen, select "Reserve by Course Number" or "Reserve by Instructor"
3. Type in the instructor or course number
4. Click the title of the book
5. Click "View the electronic version of this book"
6. Check out or Browse the book as you wish.

In addition to the regular FreeBSD lab, we'll be using some genuine parallel computers, many of which are just smaller versions of the fastest supercomputers in the world today.
- The Bullpen Cluster, located here in the department, consisting of Sun Microsystems Sparc-based servers running Solaris 8.
- The SGI Origin 2000 at NCSA.
- The Cray SV1 at the University of Texas.
- The IBM Regatta Power4 system at the University of Texas
- The IBM Blue Horizon at the San Diego Supercomputing Center, which was ranked at #52 in the November, 2002, Top 500 Supercomputers List. This machine debuted at #8 when it first appeared on the November, 2000, Top 500 Supercomputers List.
- The AMD Cluster at the University of Michigan.
Telnet is bad! Get and use a secure shell client if you plan to work remotely. A free one for windows can be found here. This is important, since ftp and telnet are no longer allowed to CSLab systems.
