The required text for the course is Computer Organization and Design, The Hardware/Software Interface, Fourth Edition (Elsevier, 2009, ISBN 9780123744937) by Patterson and Hennessy. This is available from the Siena Bookstore (and elsewhere). If you buy elsewhere, be sure to get the correct edition.

Thank you for an enjoyable semester.
Use MARS to develop and run your MIPS programs.
- Be sure to check the item for "Initialize Program Counter to global `main' if defined" in MARS.
- To avoid the error when we would do a jr $ra to return from main in SPIM, instead do a syscall with $v0 set to 10 to do a system exit. MARS does not "call" main the way SPIM does.
To run spim on olsen, add the following to your .bashrc file:
```
alias spim=/afs/sosad.sos.siena.edu/users/j/t/jteresco/shared/spim-7.4/bin/spim
```
And then either log out and back in again or type
```
. .bashrc
```
You need only do this once.
Accessing class examples: On the Linux systems in Roger Bacon 306 and Roger Bacon 350, or remotely on olsen, you can find class examples in ~jteresco/shared/cs220.
